Sometimes when I am holding a nice piece of Tonewood in my hands, I am fascinate by the long way one single piece has behind. Years ago, it was part of a tree, which I have discovered in one of our native forests. After the often very amusing conversation with the forest ranger, the beautiful tree gets marked. Then the appropriate time for the careful felling needs to be await, it is between mid-November and mid-January. Only after the felling, the tree is going to be transport in my workshop and get cut. We sawn every trunk with carful and every single piece will be numbered, so even after many years we are able to tell where the home of the woods was. After the final storage, the log may now slow dry and turn into a great Tonewood worthy to be the basis of a valuable instrument.
